The Takin’ It to the Streets Festival
Takin’ It to the Streets is an international festival where artistic expression, spirituality and urban creativity inspire social change. Using the power of art, activism and relationship-building to radically re-imagining the City and the world, 2016’s Takin’ It to the Streets festival brought 10,000 people to Marquette Park on the 50th Anniversary of Dr. King & the Chicago Freedom Movement’s march. The #Streets2016 festival garnered over 6 million social media impressions, and the powerful impact of the MLK Living Memorial Project was captured by over 40 media outlets across the country.
The festival engaged thousands of people through music, dance, family activities, inspirational talks, and a bazaar.
